"Romanesque and Us"
Anna Nakazawa will be participating in a group exhibition titled “Romanesque and Us,” held at Seika-shitsu in the Shinchosha Warehouse, Kagurazaka.
The exhibition is curated by art historian Prof. Momoe Kanazawa, who notes that the late Kazumi Sakata (of the legendary shop Furudougu Sakata) was the catalyst for this project.
"I began to feel that 'Romanesque' in Japan has become something metaphysical, perhaps distinct from the historical Romanesque itself... While I never encountered actual Romanesque art at Furudougu Sakata, I often saw objects that felt 'Romanesque.' I wonder if exploring this sense of 'Romanesque-ness' might actually lead us to the very essence of Romanesque art." — Momoe Kanazawa
The exhibition features compelling works by:
Anna Nakazawa (Sculptor)
Yoji Yamada (Potter)
Shotaro Yoshida (Antiquarian)
With the cherry blossoms now in full bloom at the nearby Sotobori Park, it is a beautiful season to visit. We look forward to welcoming you to Seika-shitsu.
